School curriculum promotes GMOs, vaccines

The best way to change a society is to brainwash it's youth...

"Do you hate going to the doctor for your shots?" asks the assignment. "What if you could eat a banana instead? Through a process called genetic modification, scientists are creating foods that contain human vaccines as well as extra vitamins and minerals."

Vaccines in our FOOD?!

Tuesday, March 31, 2015 by: Jonathan Benson, staff writer

(NaturalNews) The biotechnology agenda has now infiltrated public school curricula for sixth graders, with a captured screenshot of a student's homework essentially answering "yes" to the loaded question, "Are genetically modified foods safe to eat?"

It appears as though Monsanto has somehow slithered its slimy tentacles into formative school curricula in order to brainwash the next generation into accepting pirated biology.

GMOs: a toxic legacy of superweeds, cancer, environmental contamination and crop failures

As you'll notice in the assignment, there's no mention of how Roundup, the chemical herbicide applied liberally to GM crops like soybeans and corn, is causing an epidemic of pesticide-tolerant "superweeds." There's also no mention of how the World Health Organization (WHO) recently conceded that Roundup is a "probable carcinogen," meaning it causes cancer.

What about the fact that more than 75% of air and rain samples collected across the U.S. are now turning up contaminated with Roundup? Nope, no mention of this either, which is highly alarming, as Roundup exposure, even in small amounts, is linked to causing a host of human health problems.

Rather than provide students with the full story on GMOs, pro-biotech propaganda like the aforementioned worksheet is flagrantly propagating an agenda of lies. And that agenda, which is based on illusion rather than science, is what students are now being tricked into believing is undeniable truth.

The Amazing Pomegranate

100+ Health Properties of Pomegranate Now Includes Helping Diabetics
Contributing Writer for Wake Up World
While pomegranate enjoys high standing as far as its culinary status, too few folks realize how wide a wide range of health benefits this ‘super food’ actually possesses, with a staggering 100+ of them identified so far through Greenmedinfo.com’s research indexing project. View the open access archive of study abstracts here: pomegranate research database.
Consider what a physician would think if he could find a drug that instead of possessing 100 side effects (which is sadly typical for pharmaceutical agents) had 100 side benefits?
This mythical ‘poly-pill,’ capable of hitting many of the root causes of disease and sometimes ameliorating them, exists, but its not an expensive, highly toxic and hard to obtain ‘drug.’ It’s a delicious plant berry — technically the plant’s fruiting ovaries — that springs naturally from the pomegranate bush.

Especially noteworthy are pomegranate’s ability to support the mammalian ovary as a natural form of ‘hormone replacement therapy,’ especially as it ages, and its ability to reverse plaque build-up in the arteries (atherosclerosis) – a condition which underlies the #1 cause of death in the developed world: heart disease.

Pomegranate: an Alternative To Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Fruiting plants and humans both have reproductive organs called ovaries, and in the case of the pomegranate fruit, the anatomical resemblance is absolutely striking.

Experiments have been performed revealing that pomegranate contains an estrogen structurally and functionally similar to one found in mammals, namely, estrone,[1] and is capable of replacing the function of the ovary when removed from female animals (the ovariectomy-induced postmenopausal experimental model). It is believe that at 17 mg per kilogram pomegranate is the highest known source for estrone in plants.

Despite the powerful estrogenic properties of pomegranate, this amazing fruit does not exhibit well-known carcinogenic potential associated with synthetic, horse-derived (e.g. Premarin), and even so-called bio-identical or “plant-derived” estrogens. To the contrary, pomegranate has been shown to act selectively to modulate estrogen receptors (SERM) that are beneficial to the organism, while down-regulating activity at the receptors known to be associated with estrogen-sensitive cancers. This type of dynamic intelligence is unique to natural substances, and is not yet reproducible through pharmaceutical preparations.

Facts About Hydrogen Peroxide

Check out this list of 15 everyday uses for hydrogen peroxide you didn’t know.

Health & Wellness

1. First Aid

Hydrogen peroxide gently sanitizes cuts and scrapes without harsh chemicals. It’s a natural anti-septic that helps to prevent infection. This solution should be used to help clean minor wounds but should not be used for long term treatment or to clean serious wounds.
I personally use a food-grade, 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for minor cuts, scrapes and bug bites to disinfect, and use this DIY first aid ointment to promote healing.

2. Contact Lens Solution

If you forgot your contact lens fluid, fear not! If you have hydrogen peroxide, you can use this as a temporary contact lens fluid. The 3% solution will keep your contact lenses safe and will even help break down proteins that have accumulated on your lenses during the day.

3. Sinus Infection Relief

Diluted hydrogen peroxide can be used as a nasal spray for those of you dealing with sinus congestion.

Dental Care

4. Mouthwash

A food-grade, 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide can be used as an effective and safe mouthwash. When used daily, it can even whiten your teeth and help with persistent canker sores. You only need about 1 tablespoon daily; just swish around the solution in your mouth for 1-2 minutes and then spit.

5. Sanitize Toothbrushes

Keep toothbrushes naturally clean with hydrogen peroxide. Just soak toothbrush heads with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide to kill germs and bacteria. Try this 1-2 times a week.

6. Whiten Teeth

Mix 1 tbsp of baking soda with 1 tsp of food-grade, 3% hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Use this as a “toothpaste” to remove stains and help to whiten teeth. Use a few times a week as needed.

Natural Cleaning

7. All-Purpose Cleaner

I always turn to hydrogen peroxide in my home because it is an effective and safe cleaning product. It has strong disinfectant properties and so it can be used in the kitchen, bathroom and even on your children’s toys. It’s also great for cleaning mirrors and windows.

8. Laundry Stain Remover

Next time you have to tackle a laundry stain, try using 3% hydrogen peroxide. Gently dab the solution onto the stain and let sit for no longer than 3 minutes (hydrogen peroxide can bleach fabric if left on the stained surface too long), then thoroughly rinse the affected area.

9. Whiten Laundry

Give up bleach for good and opt for hydrogen peroxide to get clothes naturally white. Add 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide a load of laundry. Let soak for 20-30 minutes and wash as normal.

10. Mold and Mildew Cleaner

Don’t reach for bleach if you have a tough mold or mildew stain. Spray a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide on mold and mildew on grout, tiles, bath tubs, shower stalls and more. Let solution soak for at least 30 minutes and rinse.

11. Carpet Cleaner

Got a tough carpet stain? Spray a little hydrogen peroxide on the stain and let sit for no longer than 3 minutes (hydrogen peroxide can bleach carpet if left on the stained surface too long), then wash out well with a cloth. Test on an inconspicuous spot first.

Kitchen

12. Disinfect Kitchen Sponges and Sinks

Kitchen sponges and sinks can easily contain more germs than bathroom toilets. Yuck!
Keep those sponges and kitchen sinks clean with hydrogen peroxide. Clean out sink of any dishes or dirt. Plug the sink and fill with very warm water and add 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide. Add kitchen sponges and let sit in sink for about 20-30 minutes. This will help to sanitize both the sponges and the sink and naturally kill bacteria.

13. Natural Fruit and Vegetable Cleaner

Hard to believe, but, yes, that produce you got from the store is covered in germs. Ew, right? Hydrogen peroxide can kill germs on your produce, as well as help neutralize potentially harmful chemicals.
Simply fill half of your sink with warm water and add 1⁄4 cup of food-grade, 3% hydrogen peroxide, then let your fruits and vegetables soak for 10-15 minutes. I would recommend using this method on fruits and vegetables with thicker skins such as cucumbers and potatoes.

14. Sanitize Cutting Boards

Keep your cutting boards clean with hydrogen peroxide. Just spray cutting board surfaces with hydrogen peroxide and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse well with hot water, and then use dish soap to wash off food particles.

15. Disinfect Refrigerator

Got a funky smell in the fridge? First, empty out all the food and drinks. Then, spray hydrogen peroxide and let sit for a couple of minutes. It will help to sanitize and neutralize odors. Wipe down with a clean cloth and place food back inside.

Manuka Honey

Manuka honey is produced in New Zealand by bees that pollinate the native manuka bush. Advocates say it treats wound infections and other conditions.
WebMD takes a look at what the science says about using manuka honey as a medicine.

Healing Power of Honey

Honey has been used since ancient times to treat multiple conditions. It wasn't until the late 19th century that researchers discovered that honey has natural antibacterial qualities.

Honey protects against damage caused by bacteria. Some honey also stimulates production of special cells that can repair tissue damaged by infection. In addition, honey has an anti-inflammatory action that can quickly reduce pain and inflammation once it is applied.
But not all honey is the same. The antibacterial quality of honey depends on the type of honey as well as when and how it's harvested. Some kinds of honey may be 100 times more potent than others.

Components of Manuka Honey

Hydrogen peroxide is a component of honey. It gives most honey its antibiotic quality. But some types of honey, including manuka honey, also have other components with antibacterial qualities.
Another antibacterial component in manuka honey is methylglyoxal (MG). MG is a compound found in most types of honey, but usually only in small quantities.
In manuka honey, MG comes from the conversion of another compound -- dihydroxyacetone -- that is found in high concentration in the nectar of manuka flowers.
MG is thought to give manuka honey some of its antibacterial power. The higher the concentration of MG, the stronger the antibiotic effect. But, there may also be other compounds involved in the medicinal effect of manuka honey.
Honey producers have developed a scale for rating the potency of manuka honey. The rating is called UMF, which stands for Unique Manuka Factor.

The UMF rating is thought to correspond with the concentration of MG and other compounds. Not all honey labeled as manuka honey contains significant levels of antibacterial factors. To be considered potent enough to be therapeutic, manuka honey needs a minimum rating of 10 UMF. Honey at or above that level is marketed as "UMF Manuka Honey" or "Active Manuka Honey."

How Manuka Honey Is Used

The main medical use for manuka honey is on top of a wound. It is generally used for treating minor wounds and burns.
Manuka honey is also marketed for use in many other conditions. These include:
  • Preventing and treating cancer
  • Reducing high cholesterol
  • Reducing systemic inflammation
  • Treating diabetes
  • Treating eyeear, and sinus infections
  • Treating gastrointestinal problems
But the evidence is limited on whether or not manuka honey is effective for these conditions.
The honey used to treat wounds is a medical-grade honey. It is specially sterilized and prepared as a dressing. So the jar of manuka honey in the pantry should not be considered part of a first aid kit. Wounds and infections should be seen and treated by a health care professional.

What the Science Says About Manuka Honey

Several recent studies show manuka honey is effective when used on top of wounds and leg ulcers. Studies also show it's effective in fighting infection and promoting healing.

But not all studies show that it helps to heal ulcers. And there is concern that manuka honey may actually delay healing in people who have ulcers related to diabetes.

The Truth About Taking Zinc Lozenges for Colds

The Truth About
Taking Zinc Lozenges for Colds

Zinc lozenges are a popular remedy for a cold. But do they really work?
For years, scientists have conducted studies on zinc. And for years they’ve gotten conflicting results. Some studies showed that zinc works. And some studies showed it doesn’t.
But recently, one group of researchers conducted a meta analysis of all the published studies on zinc. They discarded any studies with poor methodology. What they were left with were double-blind, placebo-controlled studies totaling 1,387 participants.
The researchers looked at all the different factors that could have affected the outcome of the studies — what kind of zinc, what form it was in, what dose… everything. When all was said and done, they finally had some answers about zinc that made sense.
Here’s what they discovered…
The ONLY Forms Of Zinc That Can
Stop A Cold In its Tracks
There are several kinds of zinc that you can take for colds. But only two kinds of zinc are actually effective against colds.
The best kind is zinc acetate. It’s the only kind of zinc that consistently slashes the duration of a cold in half.  Zinc gluconate was the second best choice, but zinc acetate worked much better.
None of the other kinds of zinc were effective at fighting colds.
Why are zinc acetate and zinc gluconate effective and other kinds aren’t? Because they both release zinc in the form of a positively charged ion. The ionic form is what makes the difference in whether zinc can cure your cold or not.
How does ionic zinc cure your cold? Well, first, zinc is a powerful antiviral agent, especially against rhinoviruses. Next, ionic zinc helps your white blood cells fight cold viruses, too. It boosts their production of interferon-gamma, which is your body’s primary defense against all viral infections.
Ionic zinc also stops the cold viruses from spreading in your body. You see, cold viruses get into your cells by attaching to a microscopic molecule that moves between cells. The molecule is called ICAM-1. And if a cold virus attaches to it, ICAM-1 smuggles the virus inside the cell. Ionic zinc blocks this process and stops cold viruses from entering and infecting your cells.
And finally, ionic zinc fights colds by minimizing stuffiness, congestion, sneezing and a runny nose.  How?  It inhibits the release of histamines that trigger those symptoms. In other words, it behaves just like the antihistamines some people take when they want to get rid of a runny, stuffy, congested nose.
Once researchers learned that ionic zinc was more effective than non-ionic zinc, they wanted to know which compound was best at releasing zinc in its ionic form. They wanted to know what dose was effective.  And they wanted to know which form was best.
As I mentioned above, they discovered that zinc acetate was best. Zinc acetate releases 100% of the zinc in an ionic form. Zinc gluconate was second best. It only releases 70% of its zinc in the ionic form.
The researchers also found that you need at least 75 mg of zinc acetate a day to fight colds. And finally, they found that zinc is only effective when cold viruses are exposed to zinc for at least 20 minutes at a time.
Since zinc needs 20 minutes of exposure to fight colds… pills, syrups, or sprays simply won’t work. You need slow-dissolving lozenges that release the zinc right where the viruses are.

Here’s What You Don’t Want In
Your Zinc Cold Remedies
Other common forms of zinc (zinc citrate, zinc glycinate, and zinc tartrate) release little to no ionic zinc.  As a result, they are completely useless for fighting colds.
And don’t be fooled by combinations, either. If you choose a product that combines zinc gluconate and zinc glycinate, you’re wasting your money.
Not only do you get less zinc gluconate per dose, the glycine interferes with the release of ionic zinc from the zinc gluconate. Only 57% of zinc is released in ionic form. That’s way less than the 70% released by zinc gluconate on its own.
And it’s even worse when manufacturers combine zinc gluconate with zinc citrate, zinc aspartate, or zinc tartrate. These combinations result in 0% of the zinc being released in ionic form. That’s right – zero.  No wonder so many of these zinc remedies don’t work!
And finally, when you’re selecting lozenges, check for palm kernel oil and cottonseed oil. If either of these oils are in the ingredient list, don’t waste your money. Why?  Because they bind to zinc during the manufacturing process and prevent it from being released in ionic form.
Suddenly all of these conflicting study results make sense, right? As soon as I read the meta-study, I knew exactly what kind of zinc to recommend to my patients and readers — zinc acetate, in lozenge form.
But there was just one problem with zinc acetate lozenges. I couldn’t find any that were commercially available! That’s why I turned to my friends at Advanced Bionutritionals.
The ONLY Type of Zinc
You Should Take to Fight a Cold
I shared what I had learned about zinc acetate, and I’m happy to report that Advanced Bionutritionals has now developed the very first zinc acetate lozenge — Advanced Zinc Lozenges.
Advanced Bionutritionals did their best, and the taste is fine.  But I’m not going to lie. You will still have a slight metallic taste and drying sensation on your tongue. But you know what? I take that as a good sign. That means the lozenge is working.

Monsanto’s BT-Toxins Found to Kill Human Embryo Cells

...you'll be interested to know that Monsanto's Bt-toxin is far from 'safe' as the chemical company claimed it would be when filing their papers with the FDA. New research from Canada show that BT toxins are showing up in pregnant women, and low and behold - they are killing human embryo cells.

Bt toxins are prominent in genetically altered crops such as corn, soy, wheat, and others, called Cry1Ab - and they can be lethal. Not only do these cry-toxins target the kidney cells of developing human fetuses, but when Cry1Ab and Cry1Ac are combined with RoundUp, they can delay apoptosis of human cancer cells. What's worse, glyphosate, the main ingredient in RoundUp, also causes necrosis - i.e. the death of human tissue, and this happens even when the substance is found in much smaller amounts than what is currently being used on our agricultural crops. The stuff is still carcinogenic in the parts per trillion range.

Infrared ‪Sauna‬ for Health

HEALTH TIP: “Far Infrared” (FIR) is a band of light produced by the sun, not visible to the human eye but detectable as heat. This is the heat you feel that penetrates and warms your skin when you stand in the sun, and it is the same heat you miss when you walk into the shade on a cold winter day. FIR heat is a completely safe form of naturally occurring energy that heats objects by a process called “direct light conversion,” which warms only the object and does not raise the temperature of the surrounding free air. This type of energy travels up to 3 inches deep into the body and increases circulation and nourishes damaged tissue.
With a FIR sauna, your body receives a deep detoxifying sweat that is sustained at about 120 degrees as compared to the 180 degrees that would be required from a traditional steam sauna. By creating an “artificial fever,” FIR heat has a positive effect on the immune system. Often misunderstood, fever is a natural healing response of the body. The function of the immune system is increased naturally during a fever, while viral and bacterial growth is slowed. Last night, I felt like I might be getting sick, so I sat in the sauna about 45 minutes (as I do almost every night). Voila! After I got out of the sauna, I felt better and never got sick.
A 2001 study by Dr. Masakazu Imamura (published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology) indicated that 30 minutes in the FIR sauna can burn upwards of 600 calories. As your core temperature increases, the body works hard to cool itself, and there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories. The increased metabolic rate causes extra toxic waste products to be purged from the body through the skin, during perspiration. The skin is often referred to as the “third kidney” because it is believed to be responsible for eliminating 30% of the body’s toxic waste.
In 1989, German medical researchers reported in "Dermatol Monatsschrift" that a single whole-body session of infrared-induced hyperthermia lasting over one hour had ONLY beneficial effects on subjects with hypertension. Each subject experienced a rise in core body temperature to a maximum level of 35.5 degrees Celsius (100.5 Fahrenheit). All of the subjects in one experiment had significant decreases in arterial, venous, and mean blood pressure that lasted for at least 24 hours.
Infrared heat also increases the extensibility of collagen tissues, decreases joint stiffness, and increases blood flow.

Balancing your Body's pH

Your Body is Acidic. Here is what you Need to Do

The body maintains a delicate acid-alkaline balance. Everything from healthy cells to cancer cells to soil quality and ocean life is affected by pH.

The term pH stands for “potential hydrogen” which is the measure of hydrogen ions in a particular solution. In the case of our bodies, that solution refers to our body’s fluids and tissues.

The pH scale measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is and ranges from 0 to 14. Seven is neutral. Below 7 becomes increasingly acidic, above 7 increasingly alkaline.

Proper pH varies throughout your body for many reasons. For example, your bowels, skin and vagina should be slightly acidic–this helps keep unfriendly bacteria away.

Saliva is more alkaline. While your urine is normally more acidic, especially in the morning.

In addition, your body regularly deals with naturally occurring acids that are the by-products of respiration, metabolism, cellular breakdown, and exercise.

By far the most important measurement is your blood. For optimal cellular health, your blood pH must be slightly alkaline with a pH between 7.365 and 7.4. A basic understanding of how our bodies maintain an alkaline blood range is important for good health. Your body doesn’t just find the balance it works extremely hard to create it.

Most people are bathing their cells in an inflammatory acid bath multiple times per day with tons of sugar, processed foods, and factory farmed animal products.

One of the biggest casualties of that type of diet is the toll it takes on the body, especially the digestive system, liver, and kidneys. Inflammation, allergies, arthritis, skin problems, constipation, bowel issues, stress (physical & mental) and chronic disease like cancer absolutely love this diet.

Excess acidity also sets the stage for bad bacteria (like yeast and fungus) and even viruses that wreak havoc on our health.

Therefore, maintaining pH balance  is one of the important tools to optimizing your health.

Home Remedy To Correct Your PH Balance

Ingredients

2/3 tsp. baking soda

4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice or organic apple cider vinegar

Directions

Mix everything together.  The acid/base combination will immediately begin to fizz.

Continue adding baking soda until the fizz stops and then fill the glass with  8 oz. of filtered water.

Drink this all in one sitting.

This  remedy will help neutralizes the pH and create an alkaline-forming environment in your body.
